12:00 - 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 1
Join Hope Clinic of McKinney on Saturday, May 1, 2021, from noon until 4 pm for a FREE Mental Health & Wellness Community Health Fair. Over 15 vendors will be set up in and around the clinic’s parking lot, near the intersection of Lamar and Kentucky. Listen to short presentations by mental health experts, in both English and Spanish, to be offered throughout the event.
Check in for free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. Enjoy live music from The Parks Church as well as hands-on art activities for all ages (think Mother’s Day!). And finally, plan for a picnic lunch and treats with a visit to both Twin Stacks BBQ and Kona Ice food trucks. As May is “Mental Health Awareness Month,” Hope Clinic has adopted the theme of “Let’s Get Better Together,” especially as we all have experienced pandemic fatigue during these difficult times. “Many of our booths, speakers, and activities will focus on how to better understand your mental health and deal with stress and depression,” said Melissa Willmarth, Hope Clinic’s Executive Director. To date, some of the participants include the McKinney Fire & Parks & Recreation Departments, UT Southwestern’s Center for Depression Research & Clinical Care, Texas A&M AgriLife, Community Health Clinic, Watermark Urgent Care, Family Health Center, Grace to Change, Lifepath Systems, McKinney Cares, Rosa es Rojo, and more! Attendees will be encouraged to visit each vendor and play a fun “Fair Booth Bingo” game. A completed bingo card can be entered for a chance to win a $100 Scheel’s Gift Card, $100 Walmart gift cards, and more to be announced. Need not be present to win. Standard COVID protocols will be practiced at this outdoor event, including the encouragement to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. Hope Clinic recognizes these event sponsors for helping to underwrite the costs of the Fair and help our nonprofit meet fundraising goals and offer an event designed to include our patients and surrounding community.
Sponsors to date include Resi, Randolph Books Federal Credit Union and Sarah Flannigan, Realtor with JP & Associates. The mission of Hope Clinic is to share the love of Christ by partnering with our community to provide quality, compassionate health care to our medically underserved neighbors living in Collin County.
