These 10 Kid-Friendly Verses to Memorize this Summer (with a free bonus printable!) will get your family on the way to knowing God’s Word and incorporating it into your hearts and lives this summer. Enjoy!

When we adopted four kids several years ago, we decided to add some goals for the summer to keep things running smoothly. Here are some of the goals I set for that year and for years since!

Three of my goals:

1. Establishing morning chore time.
   
2. Exploring more of our city in “staycations.
   
3. Memorizing Scriptures with my kids.

Chores are necessary and staycations are fun, but hiding God’s Word in our hearts was, by far, the most important thing we did during those summer months. If you’d like to join me, try these simple-yet-powerful verses to start with! If you have younger kids, try having them memorize the BOLD words alone. (All Scriptures are in NLT.)

10 Kid-Friendly Verses to Memorize:

1. Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. —James 1:17
2. Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. —Proverbs 3:5

   

3. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” —Romans 10:13
   
4. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. —Isaiah 41:10
5. So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. —1 Corinthians 10:31
6. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. —Philippians 4:13

   

7. This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. —Psalm 118:24
