As a seasoned homeschooling mom of ten, I’ve navigated the ebbs and flows of educational challenges and triumphs. From witnessing my adult children flourish to embracing the unique journey of my younger ones, each day is a lesson in patience, faith, and love. Focus on one day at a time. And one heart at a time. This mantra has been my guiding light. With seven of my children now adults, I understand that every moment I spent pointing them to Jesus made a difference. Time reading the Bible, attending church, and having deep heart-to-heart talks was not wasted! 

When Traditional Methods Fail: Tailor Their Education

There were times when the path seemed clouded with tears and uncertainty. The struggle to motivate and engage my older children in their studies often led to frustration and helplessness. Yet, in this struggle, I found my calling to shift gears – to throw out the lesson plans and tailor the educational experience to each child’s heart and spirit.

Adopting a “teaching to their strengths” approach meant diverging paths for each of my kids. From co-op and college classes to unconventional DVD courses, I encouraged their natural curiosities and learning styles. This freedom to explore outside traditional worksheets and textbooks unlocked a passion for learning in my children that was both profound and deeply personal.
