Stirring 'Amazing Grace' Performance Will Give You Chills

This stirring performance of "Amazing Grace" will give you chills. It's an outstanding rendition of the most beloved hymn of all time; it deserves to be listened to repeatedly. Watch the short but moving clip to hear this powerful cover performance of "Amazing Grace."

Christian contemporary music is an increasingly popular genre, especially in the church, and it's abundantly clear why that is the case. Dozens and dozens of truly talented Christian musicians have produced some incredibly powerful work about Jesus Christ, His love, faithfulness and grace.

However, as great as those contemporary Christian tunes are, nothing will ever compare to the old church hymns. Those beloved songs contain so much power, emotion and truth. Sadly, many churches have started abandoning and moving away from the hymns, and I can't help but feel that the praise and worship portion of Sunday morning services suffers because of it.  It's impossible to top or even match hymns like "How Great Thou Art," "Great is Thy Faithfulness," "Victory in Jesus" and many, many others.

Of course, it would be wrong to talk about hymns without mentioning the most beloved hymn of all time: "Amazing Grace." With its iconic, memorable lyrics, this beautiful song tells of a state, a place that we've all been in at one time or another before coming to Christ. It also describes the immediate feeling - that a weight had been lifted off your shoulders - after being forgiven and accepting Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Con Hunley performs the beloved tune about experiencing the Lord's grace and forgiveness for the first time. It's a much different sound and feel than you're likely used to, but that does not change the lyrics' meaning, emotion and truth.

Hebrews 4:16 "Then let us come near to the seat of grace without fear, so that mercy may be given to us, and we may get grace for our help in time of need."

Grace That Breaks Every Chain | Awaken To Truth

#GraceThatBreaksEveryChain #gospelmusic #christianmusic Grace That Breaks Every Chain was birthed from a deep revelation of what God’s grace truly means. Many misunderstand grace, thinking that because we are saved by grace alone and not by works, living carelessly – even in ways that go against Christ’s teachings, is somehow permissible. But the Word of God reveals that while salvation is by grace through faith alone and not by our works, this same grace was never meant to leave us bound to sin. It was given to break every chain, empower us to live holy lives, and set us apart as His own – distinguished from the world by our obedience, purity, and love. In John 14:15, Jesus teaches that true love for Him is demonstrated by keeping and obeying His commandments. Lyrics Snippet: *I heard them say Your grace is free So they keep walking carelessly But Jesus, Your Word opened my eyes Grace was never meant to hide The sin that nailed You to that cross Your grace was meant to set me free.* This song is a prophetic call to the Church to remember that grace is not a license to live contrary to Christ’s commands, but the power to stand holy and blameless, set apart for Him. We do not earn our salvation by works – it is freely given through faith in Jesus’ finished work on the cross, but the grace that saves us also transforms us to walk in truth, purity, and obedience, as His holy people in this world. Scripture Inspiration: *For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.* — Ephesians 2:8-9 *What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?* — Romans 6:1-2 *But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.* — 1 Peter 2:9 🙏🏾 May this song remind every listener: Salvation is by grace alone – a gift we can never earn and this grace calls us out of darkness to live holy, free, and set apart, shining His light and reflecting His love to the world. In a world 🌍 losing its meaning, which believes only in materialism and the immediate, this song is a call to raise our heads to Heaven before it's too late. ✨Discover a powerful composition, blending heavy rock 🎸 and divine lyrics. ✨ It's also a reminder: alongside an atheistic, materialistic, and risky vision of the world, there exists a creative perspective, born from an intelligent Being. ✨This perspective affirms that every human being comes from this loving Being❤️, who desires the salvation of all, but which cannot be achieved without our will to move towards good. ✨ It is therefore a reminder 🔔 and a powerful call to return to our true origins.

William Murphy’s ‘It Is Well’ Performance Will Give You Chills

William Murphy’s ‘It Is Well’ performance will give you chills and leave you reflecting on God’s peace. William and his choir’s praise sounds wonderful, strong, and sweet. Watch the video to see and hear the beautiful act of worship.

Performing artist and pastor William Murphy and his singing group launch into nearly 10 minutes of music in their performance of ‘It Is Well.’ It’s the most lively and soul-filled cover of the song that you’re likely to ever hear, with long vibrato-filled notes and improvised add-ins. Partway through the performance, William combines preaching and singing as he dances across the stage and riles up the crowd.

The hymn can often take a very somber tone when it's performed in the typical way, but William’s version fills it with excitement, peace, joy, and hope. His performance says, “It is well with my soul, and I’m excited about it because I have full trust in God that he is with me.” Some of the lyrics William makes lively are:

It is well with my soul!
It is well, it is well with my soul!
It is well with my soul!
It is well, it is well with my soul!

The hymn has an incredible background. Horatio Spafford wrote the song in 1873, after his four daughters drowned in a voyage to England. His wife sent him a message: “Saved alone. What shall I do?” He headed to England and wrote the hymn as he passed over the spot where the shipwreck occurred. He lost a fortune in the Great Chicago Fire just two years prior. Horatio had many tragedies and even lost his four-year-old son to scarlet fever a few years later, but his trust in God never wavered. Despite everything, he would say, “It is well with my soul.”

“These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16: 33
