Forgiving your dad

The world is filled with unpredictability and unknowns. We do not know what will take place the next day, the next minute or even the next second. Really, the only way to deal with such uncertainty is to ask for help, guidance and protection. That is exactly how one song handles a situation brimming with such unpredictability. 

“Tallis’ Canon” by Sounds Like Reign, which is a lullaby, begins by praising the Lord for everything he has done and all that he has accomplished. 

But then, understanding that the future is unknown, the songwriter requests that the Lord keep them under his protection for whatever may come up. Next, the song asks the Lord to remove from what is and has always been a major fear of humanity: death. 

“Teach me to live that I may dread 
The grave as little as my bed
Teach me to die, so that I may rise glorious at the judgment day”

What a powerful request!

Finally, the song, essentially a prayer, concludes by praising and thanking God for all the good and blessings that have transpired in their life. 

The song's video shows the singer as she tenderly and sweetly puts her children to bed, giving them their favorite stuffed animal and kissing them goodnight. 

The video of the lullaby also shows the singer in a rocking chair holding a baby, who stays sound asleep throughout the entire clip. 

Several users publicly stated their love of the song and the singer’s performance.

“It is so sweet to trust in Jesus and teach our kids about him in songs of praises. Well done sister,” one person posted. 

Matthew 18:10 “Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones; for I say to you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.”

Praising and thanking God is easy when times are good and things are going our way. Praising Him amid struggles and awful circumstances and being joyful despite everything can be difficult. However, God’s Word commands us to do just that. 

Romans 5:3 reads, “And not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance.” One song from the Cotton Pickin’ Kids is about being happy and content, praising God no matter the situation - good or bad. 

The beautiful lyrics of the song “It’s a Beautiful Day,” performed by the six kids, describes someone who has the desire to continually praise and thank God, regardless of what may be taking place. 

The chorus of the song helps to drive this point home.

“Lord, thank you for sunshine, thank you for rain
Thank you for joy, thank you for pain
It’s a beautiful day, it’s a beautiful day”

Not only can the kids in the video sing, but they can also more than adequately play several instruments. One child is spotted playing the cello while another child strums on the banjo. The child who is front and center in the video plays the violin as the girl to her left plays the bass guitar. 

The amount of musical talent on display in the video is stunning!

The video has already been viewed more than 11,200 times!

People commenting on the video of the kids singing and playing the lovely song are also singing – the praises of the young performers.

Unfortunately, life is filled with many unpleasant experiences and circumstances. At times, it can feel as if the entire world is conspiring against us. As much as we may want to give up, we can rest assured that God is still right there with us as we endure those hardships. 

Tauren Wells and the musicians in Elevation Worship loudly proclaim this uplifting and inspiring message about God’s faithfulness and grace. 

As the first verse of the song explains, everything that happens in life is for a purpose, even when we don’t like or understand it. However, in order to get peace during those circumstances, we must have faith and hand over those worries to God.

The song also points out that even when it seems impossible to do so, we must keep faith and the belief that God will see us through it. We must hold on to that belief because, as the song’s chorus mentions, joy will soon return.

“If it’s not good, then He’s not done
No, He’s not done with it yet
There will be joy in the morning”

This promise of joy in the morning comes from a verse in Psalms chapter 30. 

The amount of musical talent on display in the video to the song “Joy In The Morning” is unbelievable! All three singers belt out the beautifully written song with a ton of emotion.

You can’t listen to this song and not come away in a better, more positive mood! 

Whatever troubling situation you’re dealing with, just remember, as it reads in Psalms, something better is coming just over the horizon. 

Psalms 30:5 “For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.”
