'Give Me Jesus' Hymn From Lynda Randle And Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman

Listen to this recording of the hymn ‘Give Me Jesus’ from Lynda Randle and Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman.

“In the morning, when I rise, in the morning, when I rise, in the morning, when I rise
Give me Jesus, give me Jesus, give me Jesus, you can have all this world
But give me Jesus, and when I am alone, oh, and when I am alone
And when I am alone, give me Jesus, give me Jesus, give me Jesus
You can have all this world but give me Jesus”

These two artists do an incredible job singing this powerful hymn together. Lynda starts off the song, and then Kimberly joins her. Their voices blend together so beautifully!

“In a world where people are crazy and folks are not getting along, we need more of this. But especially in the body of Christ, we need this,” Lynda says to Kimberly. “We need it bad,” Kimberly replies.

“I’ve heard people do these songs and they don’t understand, like, what it’s born out of, right?” shares Lynda. “You’ve got people working in the fields. They were tired, they were worn, they had been abused and mistreated. And their like, ‘God, in the morning when I rise, I wanna see Jesus, give me Jesus.’”

Lynda is talking about how the song ‘Give Me Jesus’ is known as a spiritual, and spirituals are an expression of the Christian faith seen through the lens of slavery and set to music. “Spirituals are powerful, beautiful music of sorrow and hope.” In his autobiography, Frederick Douglass describes spirituals as “those simple and apparently incoherent songs” with “strong, long and profound accents” that “breathed the prayers and complaints of souls suffering the most cruel anguish. Each voice was a witness against slavery and a prayer that God would deliver us from our chains.”

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this powerful rendition of ‘Give Me Jesus’ today!

In need of a little more healing now
Yes I am. And I feel a little unfixable
You're nothing short of a miracle now cause somehow You're still with me”

Brothers Luke and Joel Smallbone make up the Christian duo for KING & COUNTRY. This Grammy-winning duo are known for songs such as ‘God Only Knows’ and ‘Priceless.’ They’ve performed for sold-out audiences all over the globe and they do it all to give praise to God’s Holy Name.

And I know I put You through it
Yeah, It's amazing that You can
Love me like I, Love me like I am”

1 John 5:13 “These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

Folk Duo Sings 'House Of The Rising Sun/Amazing Grace' Medley

You have got to listen to this amazing folk duo sing this medley of 'House Of The Rising Sun’ and ‘Amazing Grace.'

“There is a house way down in New Orleans, they call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy, and God I know I'm one
Mother was a tailor, she sewed my new blue jeans
And my father was a gamblin' man, down in New Orleans”

The singers in the music video are Nate Jones and Taylor Haring, and they make up the group called Athens Creek. The lead guitarist in the video is Oscar Sosa. All of them together sound incredible, and the vocals and harmonies in the song are just wonderful! And their unique approach of blending 'House Of The Rising Sun’ and ‘Amazing Grace' is quite impressive.

“I love the juxtaposition of these songs sung together at the end,” writes one person on YouTube after watching the music video. “The desperation and pain of ‘The House of the Rising Sun’ being sung, even as the answer to those pains is delivered in ‘Amazing Grace.’  It was well performed by the group, and a huge congratulation goes to the arranger of the piece.”

“In my 76 years, I have heard many renditions of ‘House of the Rising Sun,’ but this rendition is quite possibly the best that I have heard, at least in my opinion,” comments another person online. “Your voices meld together yet remain separate, and blow the roof off the joint! Impeccable lead guitar playing, also!”

The band in the video, Athens Creek, is a country rock band out of Southeast Michigan, with a true Americana sound. And according to their YouTube page, they have been described as “the perfect blend between modern and classic and an excellent listening band for all ages.”

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this medley today!

'I See Grace' Micah Tyler Official Music Video

Check out the official music video for ‘I See Grace’ by Micah Tyler.

“I’ve seen shame, the kind that comes from mistakes, the kind that won’t go away
When I turned around, they were right there to remind me, I’ve seen regret
The kind that messes with your head, the failures and the can’t forgets
But standing here now, I’m thanking God it’s behind me
Cause I’ve seen nail scarred hands, reach out and wipe it all away”

‘I See Grace’ is such a powerful and uplifting song and one that you could listen to over and over again! It is filled with so much truth and the music is just wonderful to listen to.

Zach Kale, one of the co-writers of the song, shared a little bit about how ‘I See Grace’ came to be.

"Last Christmas, I was walking through the most difficult season of my life. Out of that pain I wrote ‘I See Grac’ with my brothers Micah Tyler and Matthew West. Micah, being the rockstar he is, recorded it,” Zach said.

"There's a verse in the Bible (Philippians 1:6) that says, he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ, When I find myself stressed, anxious, depressed, angry, uncertain of what decision to make, hopeless, or a thousand other emotions, I remind myself to look back at God's goodness/faithfulness in my life. Because when I look back... I SEE GRACE and if Philippians is true and God is who He says He is, then I believe grace is with me now and will meet me in the future as well."

We hope that you enjoyed listening to ‘I See Grace’ today! May the song remind you of God’s goodness in your life, and may you praise His name when you think about His faithfulness.

There’s beauty from the ashes in everything You do
Even in the valley I still believe
You’re good”

The Newsboys was originally founded in 1985. Though there have been various members, the current lineup is comprised of Michael Tait, Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein and Jody Davis.

'Miracle Power' We The Kingdom Acoustic Performance

Listen to this acoustic performance from We The Kingdom of their song ‘Miracle Power.’

“This is for the lost and lonely, for the broken and afraid, this is for those who are hurting
Hoping help is on the way, in these battles of addiction, when fear is chasing after me
Whatever trouble I am facing, I will lift my hands and sing, I believe in miracle power
In a wonder working God, I am filled with the Holy Spirit, working wonders in my heart”

This new single from We The Kingdom’s upcoming second album is such an incredible song, and one that reminds us of how the Holy Spirit is active and still performing miracles today.

The band members of We The Kingdom each shared on Instagram about how the song ‘Miracle Power’ speaks to them. Here is what Franni wrote on her page:

“Miracles have a beautiful way of restoring childlike wonder back into the hearts of men and women. They leave you awestruck in a way nothing else can,” she writes.

“God wants us to receive His miracles, not for the miracles alone, but in order to grow deeper in the knowledge of Him and all of who He is. My hope for this song is that it fans the flames of your faith and catapults you into the loving arms of the Living God. On this side of heaven, God does not always work things out in the timing or the way that we hope for. I think many of us let that shut off our hearts to God as we step back into the shadows of disappointment. God wants us to lift our eyes to heaven and to Jesus. Have we forgotten this earth is not our home? If not in this life, then in the next, I am confident that Jesus Christ makes ALL things beautiful and right in their time. Look up! He is inviting us to watch Him as He works wonders in creation and in the human hearts of His beloved people.”

What a beautiful message to go with this wonderful song! We hope that it encouraged you today!

'There Is Power in the Blood' The Oak Ridge Boys Live Performance

The Oak Ridge Boys lead us in worship with the classic words of ‘There Is Power In The Blood.’

The hymn was written and composed by Lewis Edgar Jones back in 1865. The inspiring lyrics remind us that there is strength in the Name of the Lord.

“Would you be free from your passion and pride
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood
Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide
There's wonderful power in the blood”

The Oak Ridge Boys are known for their unique blend of country music and gospel. This iconic group consists of Duane Allen singing lead vocals, Joe Bonsall singing tenor, William Lee Golden with his baritone voice, and Richard Sterban singing deep bass. They all joined the group at different times, but this particular lineup of men have been together since 1973.

Today, they’re at Gaither Studios for a live performance of the beloved hymn, ‘There is Power In The Blood.’

“There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb”

The lyrics of this hymn are the perfect reminder that Jesus sacrificed His life to free us from our sins. Now, we are all redeemed.

Let us lift our voices and sing of God’s many blessings in our lives.

Psalms 43:4 “Then will I go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy: yes, on the harp will I praise you, O God my God.”

'A Thousand Hallelujahs / I (We) Exalt Thee' Hillsong Worship Live Performance

Listen to this beautiful live performance of the song 'A Thousand Hallelujahs / I (We) Exalt Thee' by Hillsong Worship.

“Who else would rocks cry out to worship, whose glory taught the stars to shine
Perhaps creation longs to have the words to sing, but this joy is mine
With a thousand hallelujahs we magnify Your Name, You alone deserve the glory
The honor and the praise, Lord Jesus this song is forever Yours
A thousand hallelujahs and a thousand more”

Such a beautiful worship song, and you can feel how present and powerful the Holy Spirit is during this time of worship. 'A Thousand Hallelujahs / I (We) Exalt Thee' was written by Brooke Ligertwood, Scott Ligertwood, and Phil Wickham.

Brooke shared a bit about the background of this song and how it came to be.

“It was just such a beautiful surprise and such a blessing,” she said. “My husband and I went down to our friend, Phil Wickham, who lives just about an hour down the road from us. And we were writing in the church that Phil goes to, which is like this old little church hall in Southern California. We were sitting in the church hall with the keyboards and the guitars, and there’s just this beautiful, empty hall, and kind of started talking about all the generations of people who had worshiped in this church. We were just so inspired by the generational nature of the Church of Jesus. And we started talking about the thousands of hallelujahs that had been sung in that room.”

Brooke then shared that the lyrics for the song “just kind of poured forth.”

“All of us, at the end of it, were kind of like, ‘Did that just happen? Thank You, Lord.’ I feel so, so blessed that the song has been entrusted to us, and we just really pray that it’s a blessing for the Church and that it actually is really helpful.”

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this song today and it was able to encourage you in some way!

'Goodness Of God' CeCe Winans Official Music Video

Check out this official music video for the song ‘Goodness of God’ by CeCe Winans.

“I love You Lord, oh Your mercy never fails me, all my days I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up, until I lay my head, oh I will sing of the goodness of God
Cause all my life You have been faithful, and all my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able, oh I will sing of the goodness of God”

And I was like, ‘that’s my song, that’s my testimony,’” CeCe Winans shared. “It speaks of the faithfulness of God. And when I think over my life, I can look through the timelines of my life and see God’s faithfulness. And this song lets you know that not only is He faithful, but in His faithfulness, He pursues us.”
