The idea came to Lowry when he was writing a Christmas program for Jerry Falwell and he started thinking about what he would ask Mary if she was sitting right in front of him. He wondered how she must have felt when the angel told her she would birth a child of God. Then, he put together the questions that eventually became the lyrics we all know and love today. ‘Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man? Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand? Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God’ Home Free is an American a cappella group that competed and won in the fourth season of The Sing-Off on NBC in 2013. The current members consist of are Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance. Since that time, countless different musicians have covered this Christmas song, each one adding their own special touch. Known by their stage name, Caleb + Kelsey, these two Christian vocalists have given us brilliant worship covers and secular favorites such as ‘Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)’ and ‘My Heart Will Go On.’ Their videos have garnered hundreds of thousands of views across social media and they continue to use their God-given talents to sing praises to His Name. Today, they’re lending their voices to the beautiful holiday song, ‘Grown Up Christmas List.’ ‘Everyone would have a friend And right would always win And love would never end This is my grown-up Christmas list’ As we walk through this holiday season, let us remember the real reason we celebrate. Our Savior was born and brought forth a promise of everlasting peace and life. Now, we can spread His message of love and kindness throughout the world and this song is the perfect place to start. Colossians 3:12 “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”
