Lift your spirits and lighten your burdens with this performance of “Heart of Praise” by Katy Nichole!
If you don’t already know 22-year-old Katy Nichole Litwiller, you may soon learn much more about this talented singer, songwriter, musician, and worship leader from Tremont, Illinois.
Since recording this video in 2021, Katy has been busy making Christian music, receiving a GMA Dove Award nomination in 2022 for her debut hit “In Jesus Name (God of Possible)” and recording “God Is in This Story” with Big Daddy Weave!
Katy’s star is on the rise! However, this young lady has experienced hard times, suffering from congenital scoliosis and severe depression associated with her physical challenges and pain. She shares her story on FaceBook and gives all the glory to God for the healing he’s provided.
In this performance, Katy, along with musicians on piano, guitar, and cajón, declares her desire and intent to praise Him faithfully through all of the trials that life brings. The first four lines of the chorus are as follows:
I will lift hands to the heavens
And sing of the amazing grace
Through the broken things and the blessings
I am Yours always
The song is a wonderful reminder that it is through a relationship with Jesus that we are able to make it through all of the difficult times in life. Katy shared that sentiment on her Centricity Music website.
She recalled that when she was in a deep depression and nearly took a bottle of pills to end her life, she heard God’s voice. She said, “But I remember picking it up, and I heard the voice of God say, ‘Hold on. I’m not done yet.’ Every time I would hit that low point, I would hear that same voice.”
The performance is beautiful, but it is the words of the song and the passion with which Katy sings that is perhaps most moving. She appears to be a young lady who is wise beyond her years and spiritually mature. She knows that whether she faces good times or bad, she’ll always be in good hands if she’s walking hand-in-hand with Him!
“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” Psalms 150:6
